Antique Early Presentation Style for Lantern Globe Hand Blown Thick Flint Glass Circa 1840. 7.75" tall x 5" across widest x 2.5" across the smallest top opening x 3.5" across the bottom opening. Appears to be made of heavy, early, flint glass, and was found in the northeast, could be very well from a local glass manufacturing company of the early 1800's. Globe is in great condition. Could use a good cleaning, has some light exterior wear and minor scratches, to be expected from age and use, but absolutely no chips or cracks.
Please see all the photos for the best description and ask any questions that you may have. Globe top and bottom are definitely hand made, as you can the the imperfections of how wavy they are and full of characteristics that this was a free blown type globe. Early example, seldom for sale! Weighs just shy of two pounds!
