We had a good weekend finding some original unique items to offer to the marketplace. The mug is crude and has whittled and wavy glass. We feel this could be of New England origin due to the ribs or panels having the near indicative pattern of the inks, colognes, decanters and the condiments bottles from that area. We are not experts but feel it is definitely American with the tubular style open pontil. The rib count is 28.
The condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or stains. There is some outer base wear and we seen a little wear on some of the panels and a usage scratch or two mention for accuracy sake. The handle is solid and the rigaree is perfect with a fine delicate rat tail at the end of the handles rigaree. The colors are a medium sapphire blue with deeper blue striations winding throughout the mug. This is a choice example.
3 1/8 at its highest point and the base is approx. Thanks for your interest in our auctions and any questions please ask.
