The glass measures approximately 26 in diameter at its roundest. Each lamp weighs 6 lbs. The base and stem are aged and can be refinished; the original finials are not available. This glass is in very good condition, however, there is a spot on each lamp where there is an area that shows (upon close inspection) small brown scratches. I believe that something must have rubbed up against the lamps that scratched them in those areas and may have caused scratches and/or small cracks in the upper layer of glass.
This has not affected the lamps at all structurally and these small scratches are barely noticable. I have shown these areas in the fifth and sixth pictures. The thick glass is perfectly intact and not affected at all by these marks. I took this pair of lamps to be looked at by two different appraisers as I did not want to provide a false description and both appraisers agreed that they are Murano glass - probably from the 1950s. In the sixth picture, I have shown a spot where bubbles are in the glass and the appraisers said this is one way in which they can be sure this is a true blown glass as bubbles can be found in the glass and there are no seams in the glass. This pair of lamps is beautiful and I have tried to show them in different lights for you to be able to appreciate their color. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
