Pair, early Sandwich oil lamps, 1835-50, pressed stepped waterfall base, blown and etched font. These matched lamps, almost certainly Boston & Sandwich, combine early pressed bases with hand-blown fonts with etched grapes, connected with two handmade merses (constructed wafers). The metal top is probably a later replacement for the whale oil burner.

The base design is documented in Barlow & Kaisers book A Guide to Sandwich Glass, #4007. Both bases have chips, one has two cracks (many photos supplied); upper parts have no damage.
