This is an early hand blown pontiled glass pantry storage jar or apothecary drugstore jar from the 1860s with its original rusty tin lid.... Hand blown in dip mold, so there are no mold seams....Rough open pontil scar bottom.... 7 1/2"tall (8"counting lid) x 3 1/2round.... Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage..
A nice clean jar with no haze. Normal old wear on bottom. Original hand soldered tin lid is corroded & very rusty from sitting in a basement for over 150 years. Guaranteed authentic and over 150 years old. This type of jar was very popular with women in the mid 1800s for storing herbs, beans, dried goods, etc.
