RARE Hand Blown Antique Mercury Glass Witch's Gazing Butler Globe Ball 19th C
C e l es ti a l N o n e s u ch. A gorgeous antique hand blown Mercury glass footed globe ball. This piece goes by many names, such as a Witch's Ball, Gazing Globe, and Butler's Globe. These were used on the tables of the wealthy for the butlers to be able to view the glasses and plates of the diners in order to not be intrusive. Overall very good condition with some loss of Mercury finish. Exhibits signs of age such as surface wear and weathering.
