Offered for sale is an exceptionally rare antique blown mold glass cream pitcher manufactured in Pittsburgh, PA during the early 1800s. The cream pitcher is in the Pillar Mold pattern and it has red vertical stripes on the ribbed components of the pattern. The cream pitcher stands approximately 5 3/8 tall and it has an applied glass handle with a smooth polished pontil mark on the base. The overall condition of the cream pitcher is excellent with the exception of a vertical crack that extends from the top of the handle down the body toward the base of the handle likely as a result of a heat check from when the handle was applied. There are no other chips or cracks to note. The clarity of the glass is excellent and there is no cloudiness to note. You can expect to find the standard imperfections associated wit older glass to include air bubbles, inclusions, and light surface wear/rubbing. This is a great find for any antique glass collector! This pitcher also had a crack, but in addition had loss to the lower portion of the handle as well.
